How do you come up with a design?

Sometimes coming up with a design or theme for your own website can be more difficult than creating pages for a client! When trying to design my own site, I was looking for a picture that was special to me that I could use in my banner graphic. While browsing through my photo albums I came across a picture I took of Central Park in New York City that I have always loved. I took the picture during my second trip to New York, back in 2006. Once I had the picture, the rest of the website fell into place with a "nature" theme. Below is the original picture.
